It's around an hour and a half away, but Malestroit is such a
fascinating small town, that a visit combined with Rochefort-en-Terre,
or the South Coast, makes a most agreeable day out.
From the moment you park in the main square and pass the Mairie
to enter the old town, you cannot fail to enjoy the ambiance of
the ancient streets, the river below the town and the many pleasant
houses in the streets beyond.
Although we visited at the end of November, flowers were still
blooming in the window boxes and it looks as if the place will
probably be a blaze of colour in the summer. |
